“I’m A Tool to Blogging Trends”
I am a tool to the latest blogging trends, and I haven’t had time to do much talking about the stuff I’ve been adding to the site, so I thought I’d take the time now.
Let’s start with the Link Blog. The Link Blog is, obviously, a link blog. It’s a short-and-sweet list of links I find while surfing that I think are worthy of mention, but I’m a) too lazy to write a full entry; or b) it doesn’t warrant a full entry. It runs off my Del.icio.us account, thanks to the Del.icio.us Integrator Wordpress plugin. It’s a fun little thing, neat service, though I rarely use it. So that’s that.
Next, Audioscrobbler. Audioscrobbler is a free service where you stick a plugin into your choice of music player and that plugin sends the information to the Audioscrobbler servers. The servers then organize the information and you get your own charts and counts and such. It’s a sweet service. For a few moments, I had a plugin grabbing the info. from the server, but Audioscrobbler went down and slowed down the site, so I took it down. Look for it to make a return.
Last, but certainly well not least, Gravatar. Gravatar is… well, “Globally Recognized Avatars.” You sign up at their site, set up an avatar (gravatar, actually, but avatar is the more recognized word), and you’re good to go. Anyone supporting gravatars in their comments will have a script or plugin that picks up on your email address, hits up the gravatar matching your email address from the gravatar server, and displays it on the site. Go sign up now :D .
So, yeah. That’s what I’ve been doing. I gotta work out a few kinks in the gravatar plugin, but outside of that, all is good. Look for more fun stuff to come.
